Love Begins with Home: A Campaign for Belonging and Housing Justice

In a time when housing insecurity continues to threaten our communities, this campaign served as a bold and compassionate reminder: everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Created for Affordable Housing Month, “Love Begins with Home” invited people across the Bay Area to stand up for their neighbors, resist displacement, and envision a future rooted in care, unity, and belonging. Through vibrant visuals and powerful messaging — both online and in print — this campaign inspired collective action and brought the community together under one shared truth: home is where love begins, and no one should be left behind.

Design & Execution

The visual direction for “Love Begins with Home” centered on warmth, unity, and emotional resonance. Through a thoughtfully crafted series of digital and print pieces — including posters, banners, and social media graphics — the campaign created a strong visual presence across the Bay Area. Bold typography, heartfelt messaging, and hand-drawn illustrations came together to reflect the region’s vibrant diversity and to evoke a deep sense of care, strength, and belonging.

Every element was designed to not only inform, but to move people — to inspire them to take action, share the message, and stand in solidarity with their neighbors.

Impact

The campaign was met with an overwhelmingly positive response. It resonated deeply with both grassroots organizations and the broader community, becoming a visual rallying point throughout Affordable Housing Month. Used at events, shared across social platforms, and seen in public spaces, the campaign helped amplify a unified message: that love, care, and community are the foundation of true housing justice.

By the end of the month, “Love Begins with Home” had not only increased visibility for the movement — it had also fostered a greater sense of connection and collective power.
